About
Adam is a versatile conductor, arranger, orchestrator, and composer. As the co-director of Clockwork Sessions and conductor of the Scottish Session Orchestra, he has worked alongside acclaimed composers like Hans Zimmer, Christian Henson, Jim Fowler, Craig Armstrong, and Thomas Hewitt-Jones on major film scores including Dune (Warner Brothers), Outlaw King (Netflix), and Our Ladies (Sony). Adam has also conducted the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra for Ben Forster’s album and Radio 2 broadcast, and his recordings have featured on Classic FM (Thomas Hewitt-Jones) and BBC Radio 3, (Seonaid Aitken's What is This Thing Called Love?). Additionally, Adam served as the cover conductor for the UK tour of Disney's The Lion King and has recently led sessions for the orchestra of the Children's Classic Concerts series and Vivum Music in London.

In 2024 the World Science Fiction convention commissioned Adam to arrange and conduct a piece for the acclaimed Traditional Scottish singer Hannah Rarity with orchestra for a performance in the SEC Glasgow. Other commissions have been for 'Liverpool Capital of Culture' with his band Threads Orchestra - a PRS for Music award winning group that he directed and performed in. The group released 2 albums to critical acclaim (4* jazzwise) and were selected to perform at SXSW music festival in Texas. He has also written for performances at ‘Band On the Wall’, and Bradford University.
As a violinist and violist, he has freelanced with orchestras such as Opera North, Northern Ballet, Netherlands Symphony, Manchester Camerata and the Seychelles Festival Orchestra. He has also held chairs with 'Annie' (West End), Lion King (UK Tour) as well as serving as a deputy with 'Les Miserables' and 'Oliver’ (Cameron Mackintosh). He has performed and recorded with Sting, Corinne Bailey-Rae and Snake Davis, as well as broadcasts and tours with jazz artists Trish Clowes, Chris Montague and Kit Downes. In his formative years, he was also the drummer for the Yorkshire Evening Post brass band.
In addition to his performing work, Adam has lead workshops and seminars with his ensembles at the universities of York, Hull and Bradford as well as teaching at Stockport Grammar School, Merchant Taylors Grammar School and coaching for Stockport and Yorkshire youth orchestras. He also devised and led education projects at Le Rosey Institute in Switzerland.
